Artistic process
The techniques he practices include painting and design, as well as sculpture, installations, photography, engraving (etching), and infography. Trained as a painter, he never hesitates exchanging his paint brushes for a keyboard or a screwdriver.
P.G. was first influenced by lyrical abstraction and gesture painting (Rothko, De Kooning,), and little by little he got closer to conceptual trends, i. e. based on the idea (Duchamp, Y. Klein, Minimal Art ) and to contemporary artists such as J. Charlier, J Kounellis, Pistoletto, F. Hybert
His philosophical and poetic investigations are noticeable in his present work whose leading features are undoubtedly a ritual and unconscious taste for the aestheticism and sensuality of the materials. Pleasure, motivating his work, as well as poetic and philosophical reflection, are part of his latest investigations.
Introspection, contemplation and insight into our society can often reveal the meaning of his work.
For the last two years he has been concentrating his quest around the theme of emptiness the concept of which is suggested by motley objects and is often expressed through the white color. "Our relationship to emptiness is universal concern; it leads us to our existential anguish regarding life and death", explain P.G.
